APD Academic Calendar

This calendar applies ONLY to the Accelerated Programs Division of the School for Adult Learning at the University of Indianapolis. Information about the Extended Programs Division is at http://sal.uindy.edu/epd.html. Accelerated classes meet one night a week for a five-week session, nine times a year (nine 5-week sessions annually).

Term 1 - August to December each year

Term 1, Session 1:

• Registration deadline: Friday before the session begins, before 4:30 pm.
• Drop deadline: Friday of the first week of classes before 4:30 pm.
• Withdraw deadline: Friday of the 4th week of classes before 4:30 pm..

Term 1, Session 2:

• Registration deadline: Friday before the session begins, before 4:30 pm.
• Drop deadline: Friday of the first week of classes before 4:30 pm.
• Withdraw deadline: Friday of the 4th week of classes before 4:30 pm.

• Registration deadline: Friday before the session begins, before 4:30 pm.
• Drop deadline: Friday of the first week of classes before 4:30 pm.
• Withdraw deadline: Friday of the 4th week of classes before 4:30 pm.

Definitions

Registration Deadline. This is the date by which you must register and pay for a class. The registration deadline for APD classes is always the Friday before the session begins, before 4:30 pm (closing time on Fridays).

Drop Deadline. To be eligible to be considered for a refund of tuition, this is the date by which you must officially drop a class for which you are already registered, that you do not intend to take. This date is always the Friday of the first week of classes. This does not mean that you will automatically receive a refund. The Accounting Office processes refund requests in accordance with the Federal Refund Policy. Don't just stop going to class if you decide not to take the class! You must complete a Drop Form in the SAL office, Esch Hall 103. If you do not drop the class, no refund request will be processed.

Withdraw Deadline. After the drop deadline, you are considered officially enrolled in the course and will receive a letter grade. If you decide before the end of the course to withdraw, this is the date by which you must officially withdraw to receive a W on your official transcript instead of a letter grade. This date is always the Friday before the last week of classes. Don't just stop going to class if you decide to withdraw from the class! You must complete a Drop Form in the SAL office, Esch Hall 103. If you do not drop the class properly, a grade of F will be recorded on your official transcript.
