General Testing Information

UIndy is a national testing center for DSST exams. This means that we will gladly proctor a DSST exam for any student from any college or university, military members, etc., and have your results sent to the college or university of your choice. You don't have to be a University of Indianapolis student to take a DSST exam in our testing center. There is no additional charge for this service other than the standard test fees shown below.

There are more than 35 DSST exams from which you may choose. We administer DSST exams every weekday at UIndy. All exams may be taken on one of our testing computers in our office. You may take any of the online exams on a WALK-IN basis (no appointment necessary), any time between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday-Thursday (or 10-2:30 on Fridays). Just call the front desk before you come to make sure the proctor is in the office: 317-788-3393.

DSST exams are $70.00 each (VISA, MasterCard or American Express only) as of October 1, 2006, and there is also a $12.00 administrative fee to the University (cash or check only).

Excelsior College Exams for College Credit

WARNING: The University of Indianapolis grants credit for most, but not all DSST exams. Some exams count for elective credits, but you do not get credit for any specific course. It is your responsibility to determine if the exam you wish to take will count for credit and/or for a course at UIndy (see http://sal.uindy.edu/testlist.php). However, all exams are available to be taken at UIndy because, as a national testing center, anyone may take the exam for credit here and have the test score reported to a college that recognizes and accepts DSST exams. In other words, don't assume that UIndy will accept the credit simply because we are a testing center for the DSST Program.

You must wait six months from the test date to repeat a DSST exam.

Allow 4-6 weeks for the DSST Program to report your test score to you after the test date. The University of Indianapolis policy is that we will NOT call the DSST Program to obtain your score.

Testing Deadlines
