Homeland Security II

Part I of this course will provide an historic overview of the terrorist threat in the United States. It will further discuss the development of the infrastructure within which the federal government now addresses terrorism resulting from legislation, directives and government policies.

Part II of this course will present the mitigation, prevention, and preparedness programs as defined by the Department of Homeland Security. It will present the plan for the interface of government entities in the response to and recovery of a natural or manmade disaster/terrorist act. Additionally, it will show how communication and technology play a role in the entire process (prevention and response). Finally, it will discuss the future of Homeland Security.
