Accelerated Programs Students (APD) Only
- SAL Open House Dec. 3
The School for Adult Learning will conduct an Open House on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at 5:30 pm, in the SAL office, Esch Hall 103. This is an excellent opportunity for prospective students to meet the staff, get information on our accelerated degree programs, learn more about financial aid eligibility, how to get college credit through testing programs, and more. - Winter Registration Began Oct. 14
Registration for Semester II accelerated classes begins on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. Visit the SAL office in Esch Hall 103 to register for classes. The schedule for Semester II is now posted at http://sal.uindy.edu/schedules.php.
- Networking and Resume Workshops
Robbin Sally, SAL's Career Advisor, will conduct a free Networking Workshop for SAL students on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in Esch Hall 252, from 5-5:50 pm. Also, she will conduct a free Resume Workshop for SAL students on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, in Esch Hall 005, from 5-5:50 pm. - Free CLEP/DSST Exams for Military Members
AUG. 1, 2009. The University of Indianapolis is pleased to announce that the proctor fee for all CLEP and DSST exams administered at UIndy is waived for all UIndy active duty military and veterans with valid military ID cards. Both CLEP and DSST offer free testing to qualifying military members and veterans. Hence, by waiving the proctor fee, military members and veterans at UIndy can get free college credits by taking and passing any of these exams. A valid military ID card is required at the time of testing. Applies only to qualifying active duty military or veterans who are enrolled at UIndy. - CLEP and DSST Testing Schedule
Just a quick reminder that if you are planning to take a CLEP or DSST exam for college credit, please check the SAL Web site on the day you want to test, to make sure the proctor is available, before you make a special trip to campus. There is a day-by-day calendar of the proctor's availability posted at: http://sal.uindy.edu/testdates.php.
- Planning to Graduate in 2010?
SAL students: If you are planning to graduate in May or August of 2010, you should complete an Application for Graduation Form in the SAL office, and meet with your Key Advisor, Kathy Simpher, as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. Kathy must complete a Graduation Audit to make sure you have met all the graduation requirements.

- Watchdog Emergency Notifications
The
Watchdog emergency notification system sends instant alerts via e-mail,
phone lines, and cell phones to everyone simultaneously when we have
to close school suddenly due to bad weather, or when there is a tornado
warning or other imminent danger on campus. Please go to http://my.UIndy.edu
and update your phone and e-mail contacts in Watchdog!
- COMP150 Proficiency Exam
Did you know that there is a proficiency exam for the Microcomputer Applications course? The three-hour practical exam is administered on computer in the SAL office on a walk-in basis, Mon-Thu 11-4, or Fri 10-1:30. The test fee is $50 cash. The exam covers the Office 2007 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. You must pass all four parts of the exam to receive credit for the exam. If you pass the exam, you do not have to take COMP150, and you receive 3.0 credit hours towards graduation. For more information, call the SAL office at 317-788-3389.

To obtain a student ID card, go to the Student Business Center
on the 2nd floor of Schwitzer Student Center, Room 207.
- Parking Permits
To obtain a campus parking permit, go to the Campus Police
office in the basement of Schwitzer Student Center, Room 001. To expedite
issuance, take your driver's license and vehicle registration with you.

Adjunct Faculty Members
- Closing for Inclement Weather
Adjunct faculty members DO NOT have the authority to
cancel classes based upon the weather (Adjunct
Faculty Handbook, page 36). That decision rests with the University
President.
- Faculty ID Cards
To obtain a faculty ID card, go to the Human Resources Office
in Esch Hall 155.
- Parking Permits

- UIndy Self-Service (Web for Faculty)
If you need help accessing your class roster or entering grades,
call Matt Jones in the Registrar's Office at (317) 788-3219. UIndy
Self-Service is a software program that enables you to retrieve your
class roster and post grades from any computer. To access UIndy Self-Service,
visit My UIndy at http://my.uindy.edu,
log in with your UIndy e-mail username (to the left of the @ symbol
in your UIndy e-mail address) and password, and click the Self-Service
link in the column of the home tab.
- Adjunct Faculty Mailroom
The University of Indianapolis provides an Adjunct
Faculty Mailroom for all adjunct faculty members in Esch
Hall 102 (right inside the front door of the building). All
adjunct faculty members have a mailbox in this room for the duration
of your teaching contract. THIS IS YOUR PRIMARY CAMPUS MAILBOX. Any other mailbox you may have elsewhere
on campus is SECONDARY to this mailbox. Pay
checks, your monthly pay stub, textbooks from publishers, notes from
students, printing requests and other important materials are delivered
to these mailboxes. You can get into Esch Hall 102 from the hallway
any time the building is open. The door to Esch 102 has a combination
lock installed. Ask your Dean or Department Chairperson for
the passcode. Hence, you can check your mail at night, after
classes, on weekends or holidays, etc.
